Old Pine Chest of Drawer Redo

Hi Friends,

Sorry I have not posted in a while, but thankfully with the New Year….I am busy with an influx of new jobs! Thank You, Jesus!
Below is an old vintage pine chest. I refinished the top in chestnut and a mix of espresso. It was very banged up, but that adds the the “distressed” look. The base is done in one of my favorite colors, Dove white ( made into chalk paint). Clear wax applied then dark wax to give it an antique vibe.

Argyle Buffet

This buffet had raised plaster flowers across the doors. I sanded the doors down flat, painted the base in old ochre and designed the argyle in grey and tangerine. I was going to distress but it took away from the design because there are lots of curves and crevices. My clients wanted a more modern look so solid, I felt was a way to give it a streamlined look.

Queen of Green Bombay Desk

This was a dark finished Bombay desk that I picked up for a dime. I love this desk and it sits in my office now for my husband to use:) I figured I would let him have it…ha! I finished it in a mix of bamboo and Antibes like color green with metallic tiger’s eye gold trim and distressing. Finished with clear and dark wax.

It was up at a home decor shop where I showcase my furniture, for some time. My husband wanted it but agreed to try to sell it first. I guess he put the Gris Gris on it because it never sold. So it must have been meant to come back home with us 🙂

Two Little Antique Coffee Tables…So Divine!

These little tiny antique tables stole my heart! They were actually my husband’s grandparent’s tables that were handed down to his cousin. She decided to bring them to me to give them the full on distressed look. They were already fully painted white several times over, with organic aging…I just had to really amp up the aging with lots of elbow grease and persistence. I gave them a coat of sealer and sent her back home. They just don’t make furniture like this anymore. Detail, detail, detail … Yes!

My office in transition….

My bookcases and office desk unit were a dark finish and I painted and distressed them in White Dove. Here are some more views of the progress. I have to say…getting organized is getting me really excited about spending time in my office! Decorating is good for your mood….I know! It has greatly improved my office vibe 🙂 Image

I still need to add my husband’s desk in one corner and choose new window treatments plus a cool rug. But it is functional now and really begining to take shape.

Another piece added to my “home office”….

This is a plain black finished chair that was just sitting around my house. I decided on White Dove from Benjamin Moore for my desk unit/bookcases. Therefore, I took this chair and severely chipped it with White Dove. It was done on a complete whim but I really like this chair now. It makes for a nice accent chair in my office and there is always a need for more seating…right? Image
